Gualala Sees a Sunday of Firsts
Canon Britt Olson preached and her husband, Pastor Bryon Hansen, presided at Shepherd by the Sea in Gualala, this past Sunday.
The service was a first: the first when a married Episcopal/Lutheran couple conducted the Sunday service at the Episcopal/Lutheran Mission, and the first Sunday service that Britt and Bryon have conducted together.
As part of the joyous service, The Rev. Gillett Bechtel, a member of Shepherd by the Sea, blessed Bryon and Britt on the occasion of their second wedding anniversary.

Chapel of the Transfiguration Celebrates 100 Years!

Today marked the Centennial Celebration for the Chapel of the Transfiguration, or "Outdoor Chapel" located at Camp Noel Porter in Tahoe City, California. The Rt. Rev. Barry Beisner was present to consecrate the Eucharist, shared among the trees. Gatherers joined in the spirit of celebration, donning period clothing and many wearing colorful, handmade hats provided by the church. What a beautiful day to celebrate such a momentous occasion! Diocese of Oregon Announces Canon Britt Olson as Candidate for Bishop

In 2007 Bryon and I were married, bought our first house in Auburn and settled into our respective ministry vocations. Because one of my major responsibilities is Deployment, or the Ministry of Transition, it should not have surprised me that circumstances changed!
